On December 7th, Kevin Hart announced he was not hosting the Oscars in February 24th of 2019. This is after anti-gay tweets recently resurfaced. He claims he doesn't want to "be a distraction on a night that should be a celebrated by so many amazingly talented artists". He apologized for the tweets and says he is not the same person. There are critics. Some say he shouldn't have stepped down and that it was an overreaction. Some say it was a good move on his part.
I knew about this before reading this article. I think stepping down might have been the right thing to do. It was smart of him (or his marketing team) to think about how viewers of the Oscars would think.

I think it is smart because he made his statement and her is removing himself from the situation
ReplyDeleteEmma Burkey: Regardless if it was really his decision or not I think this was a good one. The night of the Oscars should be focused on all the incredible work of many actors.
