France and Britain angered with Trump's Speech || Chloe Villa-Abrille || 5-6-2018

Both French and Britain foreign ministry's and spoke persons were shocked when Trump used them as a bad example of gun violence laws. Trump described the 2015 Paris terror attacks as saying it was, "boom, come over here, boom, come over here boom," angering France with these insensitive remarks. The French foreign ministry made a claim against him, saying there is "disapproval of President Trump's remarks," as well as this, "calls for respect of  the memory of the victims." Trump then further argues that, "If someone in the room at the time had a gun then it could've been prevented;" however, France will stay strong with the rules of gun violence to prevent the creation of even more troubles. Trump then further comments on how there is, "blood all over the floor with knifes in London," former UK Cabinet minister, Charlie Falconer spoke out against trump saying that the US murder rate is more than 5 times than the UK's, and then comments that bringing guns into knife situations, by the citizens of the UK, would not help at all, but intern create more problems.
Many argue that the 2nd amendment is a pivotal part of US history; however, just because it was important to history doesn't mean that this rule still needs to be held into place. If the US never revoked any of its past rules, than this country would be undeveloped and chaotic, reform needs to be made in order to fit to days rules and standards, making reforms is called progress and is extremely important in US history, yet people still hold on to the 2nd amendment. It seems as though the only way to bring about reform to this nation is do the only thing that prompts change, and that is to be heard. Protest need to be done, and there have been great strides in this, such as the March for Our Lives, but we can not stop until things are changed and those with out a voice are heard. This is a common theme in US history, protest like those in the 60's where college students and the younger generation would fight against the Vietnam War, it was the fight against violence. Peaceful protests were extremely important with sit-ins, freedom rides, speeches, and marches being some of the vital tactics used to gain ground in progression, and if we too want progress than we must keep on fighting.
