Puerto Rico is nervously preparing for hurricane season after hurricane Maria tore through the island 8  months ago and knocked out their power grid. The Army Corps of Engineers has been working on restoring power across the island, but will leave this Friday with many people still without power. Their power grid is incredibly fragile, and a storm could have detrimental effects. Many homes are only protected by plastic tarps, and most people are going to have to fend for themselves.

This is important to our current history because we have a responsibility to protect our neighbors after we had a shaky response to Hurricane Maria.
