Because of the drastic hurricane that took place, Puerto Rico, will not be having a Christmas or be participating in holiday festivities this year. They are extremely worried about having necessities like food and water and can’t afford to add on the expense of Christmas. They don’t have the time or energy to even think about the holidays. Puerto Ricans have a limited amount of adequate shelter right now and are hanging by a thread.
This saddens me as everyone should get to enjoy the holidays no matter what circumstance they are in. These people are not able to have traditional feasts that they have every year and that are very dear to them. This somewhat reminds me of the financial panics in our history. Everyone was frantic, concerned about money, and barely surviving. Many people lost their homes and businesses failed.

This is so sad to hear. I wish we would aid them more, after all they've been through they deserve a Christmas and other festivities! The fact that these people don't even have basic life necessities is so saddening. I feel like we need to offer them more help as we did with Harvey and Irma. Their lives will never be the same, and not being able to have a happy holiday to lighten their spirits is really terrible.
