Art Changed by Illness by Isabel Wyatt

An artist in Virginia had a life full of art. His family members and wife shared a passion for creating. One morning, Louis Jones woke up swollen from lymph node to lymph node. He was diagnosed with lymphoma. Instead of mourning over this discovery he kept creating. So did his wife who was in more distress than he was. By the time he was cured, they both had multiple new art pieces expressing the journey of his cancer treatment.

The article was written by Beverly Kidd on September 25, 2017 in Norfolk, VA.
It is written to show how tragic things can spur great ideas for artistic work.

  1. I love this post because I feel like so many people, at our school specifically, can relate to it. We all go through rough times but art is usually a cure to help our moods and minds. This is important to remember as people across the country struggle- it can be inexpensive and easy to obtain.
