Time Magazine Person of the Year -Sam Blumberg

On December 6th, Time magazine chose it's person of a year for 2017: The "silence breakers." These silence breakers are a group of women who are behind the #MeToo movement over sexual harassment. They include Tarana Burke, activist and creator of the #MeToo movement, Susana Fowler, who came forward with a story of mistreatment by her supervisor in Uber, Sara Gelser, who filed a formal complaint toward Sen. Jeff Kruse of sexual harassment toward herself and 15 other women, and more. On Time's cover, a woman who's face is obscured is also featured, representing those who haven't come forward yet. I think they was a perfect choice for Time's person of the year because they are very courageous to bring to light these massive problems in modern society, and have opened the door to many more similar stories to come.
