On January 1st, 2018, the Pentagon will start accepting transgender troops, complying with a federal court order that overrules Trump's decision to ban them from the military. It is confirmed from the White House and Pentagon that the military will start putting policies that allow the services to accept new troops into place. In August, Trump ordered that the Pentagon reverse the policy that accepted transgenders into the military, and at first, defense secretary Jim Mattis had issued interim guidance that included a ban on accepting transgenders into the military. Now, the ban has been lifted and the new policy as mentioned earlier will be put in place on January 1st.
I think it's great that transgender people will be allowed in the military again even though Trump didn't want them to. People are people, and why should we turn someone down from serving our country if they are capable of it? It shouldn't matter whether they're male or female, black or white, gay or straight, etc, if they are willing enough, brave enough, and capable enough to fight for this country, we should let them.

I think it's great that transgender people will be allowed in the military again and I don't think people should be turned down because of how they look, especially when it comes to serving the country.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you! Trump should be grateful of anyone and EVERYONE who is willing to serve their country. He should be thanking them, not turning them away. I'm glad to hear that transgenders are going to be allowed to serve.
ReplyDeleteI’m so happy to hear that the pentagon is standing up for what’s right and decent. Good job to them!
