Roy Moore's wife, Kayla Moore, responded to accusations of bigotry by saying " One of our Attorneys is a Jew!", and pulling the all too common fake news card, "Fake news would tell you that we don't care for Jews". These statements where made in the context of Roy's previous utterance about how George Sorros is going "to the same place that people who don't recognize God and morality and accept his salvation are going. And that's not a good place". Moore is obviously referencing hell, and because Sorros is Jewish, this raised some eyebrows (it should have either way because WHAT?). She also promptly referenced "fake news" in the context of racism. Once again she spewed a defensive response about how he appointed the first black Alabama Supreme Court Marshal. Surprisingly, even in a large cloud of conflict and controversy , such as his alleged relations with a 14 year old and his clear hatred for the LGBT community, Moore has many supporters in Washington.
The half-hearted, defensive responses given by Kayla remind me of justifications and excuses given by racist schoolmates or conservatives on social media, "I have black friends!" or "My significant other is Black, so I can't be racist!", then they proceed to spout racist dreck. Either way, ignorance is clear in both situations. Personally i find the whole speech she gave was BS, her use of the word "jews" is offensive and really just sends a cringe down my spine.
