Deep South Snowstorm
In Atlanta, thousands are left without power due to a large snowstorm snapped power lines across the region. Thousands of homes and businesses in Georgia remained in the dark on Monday. Atlanta has received several inches of snow on this past Friday and Saturday, while more northern areas received up to a foot of snow. In Louisiana thousands were still waiting for power to come back. Mississippi had roughly 700 outages while Alabama had near 500. Obviously, numerous school systems were closed today due to icy roads.
This storm is unusually heavy and it's particularly strange to me how little we are affected in Texas. Thousands are without power across the south in low temperatures. Hopefully damages aren't too drastic, and an easy reparation is underway.
In 2017 alone, there have been many devastating disasters, and I continue to say that there needs to be a solution to such problems. They could be as little as building protection around houses.
