Caroline Carter-Pentagon allows transgender people to enlist in military

The Pentagon, with the assistance of the federal courts, has decided to block the Trump administration's ban on transgender military recruits. No less than three judges blocked the ban, saying that the claims made by the administration in favor of the ban were too vague and violated recruit's Fifth Amendment rights. The new decision will go into effect on January 1, and the Department of Defense has stated that it will reluctantly follow the ruling. White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders has also said that the Department of Justice is still working to get the president's directive fully passed. Numerous lawsuits against Trump's decision that date back to August are also still being reviewed at this time.

This is an excellent example of checks and balances. The courts were able to recognize the flaws in President Trump's order and block it. This also proves the wisdom of the Founding Fathers and their ability to know that America would certainly change over the years. It is also proof that our court system is not totally corrupt and will still fight for justice. While it is good to see the government taking steps in the right direction, albeit hesitantly, there is still much that needs to be done to solve the rest of our problems. For example, there is still the issue of Neo-Nazis, the North Korean dilemma, and Trump's excessive tweeting. These are quite formidable puzzles to solve, but there is hope yet for our America.

  1. GOOD. More resistance to anti-human rights.

  2. I'm just happy that the military was able to take this just and reasonable action through the courts, as it would have been worrying if the military disregarded an order by the president, no matter how dumb that president or his/her order may be; a bad president is scary, but so is an independent military functioning at odds with the federal government.
