Mackenzie Bessner- More rain in store after 5 killed in California
At least five people died after powerful storm pummeled Southern California on Friday night, flooding numerous roadways in Los Angeles and San Diego. Rescuers on Saturday in the community of Thousand Oaks found the body of a young man in his 20's who had been swept away by swift-moving waters. Earlier, a falling tree brought down power lines and hit a car on Friday night. A 55-year-old man was electrocuted and pronounced dead at a hospital. Two others died in separate car accidents amid heavy rain and a motorcyclist was found dead in a fully submerged vehicle.
This article reminds me of "Hurricane Simon" which happened in Southern California in 2014. It was considered to be a tropical cyclone and it was the fourteenth of that season. It came into a rapid intensification and became the ninth major hurricane of the year. This event is very intense and dangerous. We can not do that much to help them though since this is all Mother Nature's work. There have been many dangerous storms, cyclones and hurricanes that have happened in the past but some people are saying that this may be the biggest storm California has had in years. I hope that everyone there will do their best to stay safe.

There is a song that says it never rains in (Southern) California. Guess they can not play that one for a while. So sad for the loss of lives.
