Linnea Soderlund: Happiness Study

Summary: This article tells us that a study done at Iowa State University has found that the majority of humans are at their happiest point when the rest of their family is still sleeping, as well as during unexpected moments of alone time throughout the week.
Analysis: I can totally understand this as I, myself am most at peace in the morning when I have some time to myself. I'm glad they were able to prove this scientifically.
Synthesis: This reminds me of the gained time and money for leisure activities during and after the gilded age. People had more time to just relax in their homes.

  1. We are constantly surrounded by other people all day, interacting and comprehending. It isn't a big surprise that when we get a break from social interaction, we are our happiest selves. It's nice to know that other people enjoy having alone time also and don't need to be surrounded by people all day.

  2. I relate to this so much, I love my alone time. Being with people can sometimes be exhausting.
