Shelia Fedrick, an Alaska Airlines flight attendant, noticed a young girl, about 14 or 15, with a man well dressed man on her flight and instantly sensed something wrong. Shelia got to work and left a note in the bathroom for the girl. The young girl wrote back, "I need help." Shelia quietly alerted the captan who got to work on getting the police ready in San Francisco, where the plane was headed to land.
When they arrived, the police arrested the man an confirmed the girl was going be put into sex trafficking. Shelias amazing observations and quick thinking saved a young girls life. Flight attendants are now being trained to spot sex traffickers and how to handle these situations.

The flight attendant's actions are extremely admirable, and I am glad that they'll be incorporating this into training. When one considers the sheer number of young girls forced into sex trafficking one saved does not seem like much, but one person is still a whole, living person.

That is really brave of Sheila Fredrick. How she was able to save a girl from a horrific life is truly inspiring. I am sure that the girl is very grateful. It shows how we should pay more attention to our surroundings, as it could save someone's life.
ReplyDeleteIt is so nice that this story had a happy ending. I wish more could be done in these situations, but Im glad actions are being taken.
ReplyDeleteWow this is really incredible. I am glad they are putting this into their training. So many lives could be saved from that misery.
