Summary:
On Thursday, the biggest snowstorm of the season pushed into the Atlantic and all through the Northeast. Places like Boston, New York, Connecticut, etc. are being pounded by tons of snow. It was reported that there were 12-19 inches of snow reported in most of the areas. Because of this, over 3,000 flights have been canceled. On the bright side, the storm is nearly gone. These areas will only be dealing with mild wind for a little bit.
Analysis:
It is not shocking to hear about more snowy weather causing schools to be cancelled, flights to be cancelled, etc. It is usually at around this time of year where this becomes normal to the Northeast. However, this storm is more severe than usual. I was not aware that this was happening; however, after reading this article, I can synthesize this to 2014. I remember a similar storm happening to New York two years, ago, canceling nearly every single flight in the Northeast area. Although the cancellation of flights is inconvenient and causes many travel issues, it is for the better. They do not want to risk an aircraft flying through unsafe conditions, putting the passengers at risk. Overall, I am glad everybody is safe and warming up quickly.

That's crazy! I feel like our climate is being split in two of being too cold and too hot. It's all cause of Global Warming and how us humans are affecting the environment around us.
ReplyDeleteit has nothing to do with global warming, considering it was a SNOW storm:/
ReplyDeleteThose are the times that I would not want to live in New York City, my mom was there for business and her flight got delayed from Wednesday to Friday night.
ReplyDeleteThat's good that the storm is almost gone! I hope that everyone recovers quickly from this storm, and that unusual events like this don't occur again in the future.
