The U.S. has fired more than 20,000 missiles and bombs combined on ISIS starting about 15 months ago. As the U.S. continues to increase the usage and speed of bombs dropped on ISIS, the Air Force is having more and more trouble coming up with bombs to replace them. Air Force Chief of Staff, General Mark Welsh said that the Air Force needs funding in order to be prepared for the fight. Air Force has also requested funding for hellfire missiles. They plan to replenish their stocks more quickly. Another problem for the Air Force is the criticism of Republicans. They feel that the number of bombs dropped should be greater because Obama should take a more aggressive stand towards ISIS.
What stands out to me at first is the fact that the whole article is about how the Air Force is running out of bombs, yet the Republicans want them to use more? If they use more and more, they will eventually run out completely. Also, I know citizens get annoyed when they have to pay taxes on things, but this funding is actually something that matters. If ISIS gets to the U.S. many people's lives are in danger. I think we should be concerned about the depleting supply of bombs. I am.
