New Delhi's increasing number of child rapes- Bethany Wolfe

summary:
In the last week, 3 cases of young girls ( all younger than 6) abducted and raped in the neighborhoods of New Delhi. Luckily, all alleged assailants have been arrested. The Chief Minister has now decided to take a stand by accusing the Prime Minister of silence during these cases. Student- led protests support the Chief Minister's demand for control over Delhi police force.
analysis:
This issue is ever increasing around the world and equally horrifying. However, it's encouraging to know that some government officials, such as the Chief minister, have renounced their silence and fight for human rights. this day and age, more and more cases like these occur and are brought to light, yet officials attempt to cover up or just ignore them. If we do nothing about the issue, the issue will only continue to grow.

This appalls me to no end. These poor girls are so innocent and SO YOUNG. This is an issue that can not and will not be ignored.

  2. These acts are just more evidence that humans are evil!! They have no heart and no compassion for others, so sad.

  3. Crimes like this are so awful. I wish there was a way to put an end to these assaults faster... I think the increase in rapes is due to Indian society's lack of respect towards women and the lack of importance of human rights. -Sophie Kurzius (8)
