Oregon shooting
Oregon school shooting
In Roseburg, Oregon a student shot and killed 9 suspects at a community college. The suspects ranged from 18 years of age to 67 years (the teacher). The police found two pistols, four rifles, and one shotgun at the shooter's, Chris Harper-Mercer, house. Investigators said that these guns have had a license from either him or one of his family members for three years. One of the wounded suspect's father told CNN that when Mercer walked into a classroom he said, "I've been waiting to do this for years," then shot the teacher. The shooter ordered for all the students to stand in a straight line and asked if they were Christians. He then replied with, "Good, because you're a Christian, you're going to see God in just about one second," and then he shot each kid and killed them. One girl played dead and managed to survive the shooting. Harper-Mercer was shot after a battle with police on Thursday.
There have been 17 college campus shootings in 2015 in the United States, more than there should be. I don't understand what leads these people to do such a thing. I think that we need to come up with a better way to control guns. I understand we have the right to bear arms, but people aren't using it for the correct purposes. We need to better enforce gun control around the United States, so events like this don't keep occurring.
