While out campaigning, Hilary Clinton brought on stage the mother of a 6 year old child who was killed in the shooting of Newtown, Connecticut. She begins to cry and uses this as a transition to talk about gun violence. Many people partially blame Hilton for the act actually happening. This is considered her apology.
Although I am neutral on gun violence in the US because I see and understand validated arguments on both sides, I do not think the way for Clinton to apologize is to gain sympathy for her mistake. This article shows how politics and campaigning has changed over the years from talking about actual things that will effect out country to using pathos to make people trust you more.
This is a very emotional topic and there's always that chance that they could have sincere feelings but on the other hand you could be right and her pathos appeal is working. In your article you said that some people partially blame her for the act, I think it would be helpful if you elaborated a little because you put in an interesting sentence but didn't explain. Out of context, those people sound insane. How can you possibly blame a politician for a child shooting up a school? Now if she encouraged the American youth to do so then I would say their argument is valid but from what I've heard, she hasn't. I'm somewhat neutral on gun LAWS because I understand self defense and it's technically a right for Americans,but I also understand why people would want to get rid of them all together for the safety of the public. I'm a realistic person so obviously doing away with guns altogether is completely unrealistic and I will accept that but I do think that we should make it harder for people to gain guns and to educate them on the proper storage and handling for the guns.
