A women was stabbed to death in Baltimore after she stopped to give someone money - Joziah German

Good Samaritan, Jacquelyn Smith, was stabbed to death when trying to help a needy mother and her baby. Jacquelyn was riding in the car with relatives when she saw the women holding the sign, "Please Help me feed my Baby." She did what many would do and helped the women, but as she was handing the money out of the car, a man approached the vehicle and stabbed her in the gut. People in the car said he thanked them for the money before the incident occurred. Smith died before she could even get to the hospital. City police departments said they have deployed all available resources to find the accusers of this senseless act. They also advised that people be careful and cautious if they are to give money to anyone they don’t know.

This article created by Carma Hassan, CNN, was published Monday afternoon just days after the fatally incident. I hadn’t heard about this event, until seeing it now, but I find it very disturbing. This stabbing reminds me of when Julius Caesar was stabbed by his fellow “friends”. They stabbed him because they thought he would be abusive with his power as king. The correlation between Caesar and what happened with Mrs. Smith is that they were both stabbed by people who weren’t as they seemed. They were stabbed in times where they were working to provide the better good of a situation. This article has a negative connotation to the American people reading it because it is giving reason to how much things have changed since our parents were kids. People today are getting killed while helping someone in need, and no one is doing anything about it. This articles purpose to us is important for we need to realize that everyday that passes it’s getting more and more dangerous in city streets. In other words, things are getting unjust and need fixing. This article is relevant to our lives today because crimes like this just go to show how sick our nation is. People are getting attacked, even killed, for trying to help others who need a hand. If that isn’t sickening, I don’t know what is.

  1. It’s so sad that you try to do a good thing for people in need and then get hurt or die because of it.

  3. The fact that random stabbings and death is just par for the course nowadays is one of the saddest parts of humanity's legacy. I hope that the man who stabbed Mrs. Smith is brought to justice, and that her family and friends get closure.

  4. WOW! It's devastating to know that this is the world we live in. All Smith was doing was trying to help a lady out and that happens.

  5. I cannot believe this happened. I do not understand why the man who killed this innocent woman felt the need to do this. What would he of gained? She was trying to help and instead was murdered. Lily Philips
