It's no secret that deportation orders have been dividing families for years. The recent executive order passed by president Trump has created terror in immigrant communities. The US is thinking of separating children from their parents if their parents are caught traveling across the Mexican border illegally.John Kelly, Homeland security secretary told CNN news that the practice of such law will prevent families from making the dangerous journey to America.About thousand people from  Honduras and El Salvador have being detained coming from the border. The recent information indicates that the children of the detained parents would be in the custody of the Department of Health and Human Services(HHS) until they are claimed by an American relative or state -vetted guardian. In 2014  the quantity of unaccompanied children detained at the border reached alarming numbers with more than 50,000 minors in the U.S border.

The article was written by the BBC news to informed current citizens and families about recent changes in the immigration administration when it comes to minors. It also helps the world, in general, to see how things are changing with Donald Trump's administration in the White House. The tension between the immigration policies and the people can be compared to those in 1921, where the government established the emergency quota act, a law that set up a temporary system where admission to the US was based on an immigrant's ethnic identity and national origin.
