Liam Taylor - Man on Facebook Live Shot and Killed

Summary: A man, who is identified as Rodney James Hess, was doing a Facebook Live when asked to move his car by officers. The officers claim that he was being not only rude, but demanding to speak to a higher officer. The video shows however that he was calmly asking for a higher officer. Then, he reportedly got in his car, sped off, and police men chased after him, which led to him being shot and killed and his vehicle being wrecked.

Analysis: This article was written today, Sunday, March 19th but the incident took place earlier this week, on Thursday, March 16th. It was written by CNN, and quite frankly this makes me terribly upset. The Black Lives Matter movement seems to get bashed by Republicans and other parties, yet police brutality is still evident today and right now. It's literally all on video, yet nothing is being done to stop it. Nowhere in the article did it say that the police responsible for this would be taken to jail or anything, it just seems as though they got away with it. This just gets me so heated and livid.

Synthesis: This reminds me a lot of Rosa Parks. No she wasn't shot and killed, but there was a big riot and police got involved just because she didn't want to give up her place on the bus! Similarly, this man was causing no problems, all he did was ask to speak to a higher ranked officer, Even though the Rosa Parks incident was about 50 years ago, you would think there would be some type of change in how all the races are viewed, but it seems like there isn't.

  2. There has been a rise in deaths by police officers over the past few years and it's really disheartening hearing stories like these.
