Summary: The export of human body parts has been outlawed in India since 1985. It was deemed unethical. Before the ban, India was the world's leading source of of human skeletons used in laboratories, and medical colleges in the world. Shortly after the ban, a black market started to trade the human corpses instead. Smugglers find a way to forge the paperwork necessary to obtain the bodies from hospitals. People have been busted for smuggling before, but just recently, 8 suspected bone smugglers were arrested in the state of West Bengal. The bones they carried are believed to have been from decomposing bodies in a nearby river.
Analysis: This is wild. I had never even heard of a black market of human body parts. I think that it's important to do research on the body to learn more about it and help other people but I don't think smuggling them is the right way to do it.

I hope this raises awareness for this big issue! I've never heard of something like this!
