Lauren Brady P4 3/20/17 Tourists Escape from Exploding Volcano

In a video released by BBC, tourists and a BBC camera crew are shown fleeing from the erupting Mt. Etna in Sicily. They had come to explore the tallest active volcano in Europe. Hot rocks and volcanic ash are shown raining down upon them. Fortunately, they were able to escape to a rescue vehicle, which carried them to safety. However, there were 10 non-serious injuries.

It must have been terrifying for those people to have to flee for their lives. I am glad that nobody was seriously injured in the eruption. Hopefully, BBC will look more carefully where they send their crews into, before risking their lives. This video shows the amazing power of Mother Nature. The power of the eruption is immense. This is unbelievable footage to watch. This connects to when Mt. St. Helens erupted in 1980, causing many deaths and over a billion dollars in damages.

  1. I definitely agree that they should be more careful, although photographers travel to many dangerous places all the time for the perfect photos, which we usually get. But, I think their lives are worth more than a couple pictures.
