Ciaja Beck. (4th period) The murder of Kitty Genovese , did she get justice ?

Summary:The murder of Catherine Susan “Kitty” Genovese was the murder that had America on its toes. On March 13, 1964 an unusual loud scream was heard on the streets of New York city at Kew Gardens Residents, the scream seemed to be a woman’s voice; screaming desperately, “Help, Help, I’ve been stabbed, somebody help, God help!” At least 38 people heard her hopeless cries, but not a single person out of the 38 helped; minutes later another cry was made, but this time it was petrifying; seconds later Kitty was pronounced dead. Was this really the case or an over exaggeration?

Analysis:

In conclusion, this documentary  is extraordinary because they turned a sad family loss into a detective mystery from the animations and the crime scene photographs trying to put pieces together in the 30 minutes kitty was alive. “The Witness” was written not only for the justice of Catherine Susan “Kitty” Genovese but to explain that the truth is not only hard to find but unreachable when the victim is deceased. https://www.nytimes.com/2016/04/05/nyregion/winston-moseley-81-killer-of-kitty-genovese-dies-in-prison.html?_r=0
