76 Women Voyage to the Edge of the World to Fight Gender Inequality by Macey Kanaman

Summary: The Homeward Bound 2016 expedition is the largest female voyage to Antarctica. This is a mission that will last 10 years. The mission will mold 1000 women to be leaders and important decision makers. This expedition began with Fabian Dattner. Before the mission, all participants went under a year of training. Women are most affected by climate change which is one of the reasons the women believe they should be involved with leadership positions. They have even begun planning their second trip for February 2018.

Analysis: It's amazing what these women are doing and the gender roles that they are breaking. They are learning new leadership skills and team building that they might not have learned elsewhere. I think this experience is great and the women are very lucky to have this opportunity. This reminds me of women who participated in the war. At first Society was very skeptical about it because of the deep gender roles that were rooted in their society however they changed this. They were apart of the army and they broke the stereotype.
