Project Ara // Uriel Cruz, Period 6

After years of development and set backs, Project Ara is finally on its way into the world's hands. Project Ara is a "smartphone with swappable hardware pieces.". There are these modules that can be placed anywhere on the back that serve different purposes and focus on specific features. There are fitness tracker modules, camera modules, battery modules, even speaker modules. Google is currently working with top class electronic companies like Panasonic, Sony, and Samsung to create custom modules.
This kind of design is groundbreaking and will most likely make a name for itself in the near future. Samsung and Apple with definitely have to step up their game to keep Ara from hogging the spotlight, and buyers. Especially since the need for smartphones has increased tremendously in the last couple of years.
This kind of innovation reminds me of when all of these more efficient tools and mechanisms were invented during the Industrial Revolution. Old practices were left behind as new tech shaped the industry into what it is today. Inventors working day and night, rigorously trying to make something that will have as much impact in the world as things such as the steel plow and the mechanical reaper did during the late 16th and early 17th centuries. I believe Project Ara has potential to do this and will change the way we use our phones forever.

This will be our last APUSH Current Events post. I'd like to thank everyone who read and commented on my posts throughout the year. I'm still pretty sure I started the "//" trend on here so I'm going to claim that I did. I'd scold the others who used the double slash format but heck it amiright, ladies?
APUSH was a blast. I wish you all the best -- except for Matthew Taylor, he likes that owl Pokemon thing when the sea lion one is obviously way better looking AND does a flip in whatever clip he showed me trying to prove his point.
