Angie Fuentes

Summary: Hatnim Lee photographs customers at her parents' liquor store in Washington. Her fifteen year long series called, "Plexiglass", was inspired by the idea of being able to see the other side of someones perspective. Not only was it a way to connect with the customers, but also a way to appreciate photography,"I really care about my customers. ... For them to trust me is something that I'm always grateful for."
Analysis: Not only was this simply a really beautiful article to read, but i got to see amazing art as well. Even though this was not a major impact in the united states the act of wanted to show the other side was. If I'm not the only one, I could remind you that during the late eighteen hundreds documenting or finding a way to show the other side was an inspiration for change. A major contributor for this could well be another photographer by the name of Jacob Riis. His impacting images of crowded tenements and dangerous slums provided an insight on the harsh living conditions many immigrants and poor pioneers faced.
