Police Officer in Freddie Gray Case Found Not Guilty Alexis Williams

In the murder case of Freddie Gray the officer responsible was found not guilty on Monday. The officer Edward Nero was facing charges of second degree assult, misconduct in office, and reckless endangerment. This was not a jury trial it was decided by the judge. The death of Freddie Gray, a young African American male, started lots of anger, violence, and protests in Baltimore. He was arrested by Nero and ended up in a coma with a broken spine, and he died a week after his arrest. Many people surrounded the courthouse yelling "no justice, no peace"
Analysis: I am beyond outraged. This is obviously police brutality and this connects with the civil rights movement in the 60s. The Black Panther Party was a pro black violent group that fought against police brutality. In the 60s and times of segregation, blacks weren't protected by the law. The police were all racists and killed many blacks. It makes me so angry that America is like this. It infuriates me that we still have to have with racism in 2016. We've seen this many times before. Sean Bell, Trayvon Martin, Michael Brown, Temir Rice. The list goes on and on. It makes me fear for my uncles and my Dad and my brothers and every black male in the U.S. This country was built on slavery and now blacks are discriminated against through structural racism.
