Research shows us that an increasing amount of mass shootings are attributed to domestic violence. 64 percent of the cases involve the death of women and children. These sort of incidents are typically the most preventable, according to the Department of Justice, because of the many warning signs. Just last week, there was a case in South Carolina involving a man in his early 20's, taking the lives of his girlfriend, her mother, her pregnant sister, and her 8 year-old niece.
Domestic violence has always been a problem in the world. The lack of respect women receive, and the violent treatment they get form men close to them, is heatbreaking. Part of the reason so many mass shootings happen is because of lax gun laws. Another major reason behind these deaths is the violent men, harming women almost solely because they can.
