5 year old North Carolina native, Riley, is an adventurous golden retriever who's favorite place is doggie daycare. He loves the Happy Dog Cafe & Boutique so much that he ran away from home just to visit. His great escape occurred on May 6th when his owner let him into the backyard. He opened up the gate by lifting the latch, presumably with his nose, and began his one mile trek to the establishment. His owner's panic was diminished when the daycare called to let her know that Riley stopped by for a visit. The daycare owner allowed Riley to stay for the day because of his hard work in finding his way all the way there.
This example of resilience is similar to the American Revolution in that Riley really wanted to see his dog friends and he worked to make it happen much like how the patriots wanted freedom and fought for their rights. Riley is an example for us all. The importance of friendship and fun should not be hindered by limitations of distance or time.

The synthesis is exquisite. I truly believe that this dog shows the tenacity matching none other than George Washington himself. Great work. Thank you.
