Donald Trump clarified his gun control position, saying that he doesn't believe that there should be guns in classrooms, as he says Hillary Clinton accused him of saying, but rather that he thinks trained teachers and professionals should carry firearms at schools to try and prevent school shootings. Yet he says he still holds that the term "gun free zone" should be done away with because he views it as a sort of bait to shooters. What is troubling though is how he seems to be contradicting himself on various issues, seemingly just going along with the opinion he thinks the most people will approve of and thus get him the most votes. For instance, back at a rally in February, Trump swore that he would sign a bill getting rid of all gun free zones on his first day in office. Also, on the issue of global warming, on which he holds that it is a hoax and not backed by scientific evidence, he contradicts himself because apparently an investigation has revealed that he is justifying building a sea wall to protect one of his golf courses from global warming and its effects.
The 2nd amendment is a hotly debated topic in current events right now. It was one of the amendments in the Bill of Rights, which anti-federalists demanded be put into the constitution. They wanted to ensure their freedom to bear arms so they can protect themselves, but in my opinion, I doubt the founding fathers anticipated that one day many Americans would be purchasing military grade assault rifles and calling on the second amendment to protect their freedom to do so. If they could have seen into the future, I wonder if the founding fathers would have still made that an amendment, or at least tweaked it....
