WWII Female Pilots Buried at Arlington! AMAYA AVILA P. 8

Women who served as pilots during World War II finally can be buried at Arlington National Cemetery, thanks to bipartisan efforts. President Barack Obama signed a bill to permit the spreading of these three brave women's ashes at Arlington National Cemetery.
These three women were part of the WASP program which was shut down after one year, , but still made an impact for young women brave enough to fight for the United States Air Force. It was not until this year that the duties of these three women was considered commendable. With the lack of space in the National cemetery, decisions such as these are made carefully.
More than 1,000 women were part of the WASP program, 38 died during their service.

It's hard to understand why the Arlington National Cemetery would avoid to bury these women, whom fought for our country. I am glad that Barack Obama has righted this terrible wrong. Much like the 19th amendment, where women were FINALLY granted with unjust rights. These three courageous women flew planes for our country and deserve to be well represented!!

  1. Ok I didn't know that women weren't buried in Arlington Cemetery. That is so messed up but at least that's being fixed.
