"Support for Paris swells from around the world"-Leah Messinger(period 1)

Much of the news during the past few weeks has been about devastating attacks by various terrorist groups, especially ISIS. Throughout all of the tragedy, there has been an overwhelming amount of love and support that we ought to acknowledge. After recent ISIS attacks in Paris, the world has come to the country's need with a helpful hand expressing concern through every possible outlet. Although these recent attacks have heightened our concern for our own country's safety, they have made us more aware and sensitive to the crazy world around us. Social media has played a huge role in this because it has been a source of information for all of us. Not only has it been resourceful but also comforting by making it clear, through the creation of various hashtags, that the whole world is here and ready to help Paris in any way that they can. In addition to social media, cities around the world have been lighting up their buildings the colors of the French flag as a beacon of love and generosity towards the victims and those close to them. The red cross has mobilized assistance and allowed donations to be made to support these families.
Through all of the terror it is comforting to feel the rush of people that have come to France's aid. I thought that it was important to show a bright side of this tragic time in our history where people all over the world who are total strangers to one another are uniting in support for Paris.

  1. I agree. It is nice to see the large numbers of people who are concerned for France in this hard time. It is hard to even imagine what they are going through and it is good we know they need our help.

  2. I really loved reading this article. Today, we're living in a world that is surrounded by violence and terror but, it's relieving to recognize the love that stems from these events.

  3. I also agree. I'm very glad to see that countries are uniting to support Paris. It's just said to see what kind of a place we're living in today and being afraid of the next terrorist attack and not knowing when or where that's going to happen.
