On Wednesday, Summerville high school contacted the sheriff about 3 students identified as suspicious by their classmates. After further investigation, a fourth student was revealed to be in on a plan in the making to attack their staff and classmates. The plan was in the early stages, and there were no weapons yet, so the school did not go into lock down, as it was not in immediate threat.
This just makes me sick. The fact that there are so many school shootings in the news is just overwhelming and so sad. Personally, I think there needs to be stricter gun control, even with something as simple as requiring a background check (without the loophole that exists now where you can proceed without a background check if you've waited more than 72 hours). But this is not a new issue, this discussion on gun control. It existed as early as the beginnings of our country. The second ammendment of the constitution grants everyone the right to bear arms, something the American people found incredibly important then when it was written. But they could not foresee how much strife would stem from that decision in the future.
