Due to the intense violence in Syria, many have chosen to flee hoping to escape problems like ISIS. Munich, Germany along with some other countries have welcomed these refugees with open arms. As the Syrian refugees came pouring in, the German people had arranged for there to be plenty of food, water, toys, and other provisions to make them feel more at home. Many German citizens held up signs saying "Welcome!" to the influx of over 10,000 Syrians.
Personally, I think Germany is setting a great example of how we should treat immigrants who have gone through many struggles trying to get to a better place.

One of the things to note is that Germany is one of the few European countries with a really strong economy that can take in a mass number of refugees and care for them properly without to much economic strain. Countries like Greece just don,t have the money. But I do think other countries could do a better job of of facilitating them and not blocking off there borders. These people have no choice but to search for a better life. (Luis Ceja comment #2 flex period)
ReplyDeleteI saw the video of them arriving, it was really heart warming to see. Hopefully, sometime soon more countries can do the same when it comes to embracing immigrants into their own countries. -Jillian Linnear 8th Period
