Kentucky county clerk, Kim Davis, is now in jail for refusing to issue same-sex marriage licenses based on her religious beliefs. About 150 supporters have gathered in support of Kim Davis and 30 demonstrators descended on U.S. District Judge David Bunning's neighborhood to pass out fliers in support of Davis.
I understand why people would be upset if someone was jailed for acting on their religious beliefs but gay marriage is no longer a 'believe what you want to believe' situation anymore. It is officially law. Now, no matter what your beliefs are, you're going to have to obey the law. Practice your religious beliefs when it is safe to do so instead of openly defying a U.S. District Judge's orders.
