To be fair, by the looks of it, this story is a double edged sword cause you have 2 forces fighting each other with their rights to both refuse and make some one marry a couple. On on side you have the county clerk, who can refuse a marriage licence depending on some scenarios, and the supreme court who make what they say happen since it may be law. To an extent this follows what may go on in a church in america when a couple wants to marry, gay or straight, the priest has full right to deny marriage to anyone whether being legal, religious, or plainly not liking how you look. Crude as that may be, some churches actually DO practice this around Texas. The couple may be completely legal for marriage, but you have to go to the priest first for that. While this case being a legal issue or not, far as we know the clerk doesn't even have a valid licence to even give out the marriage licence.
this is so true. some couples be they straight or other can be refused marriage, that sucks but it wont change. people are going to follow through with what they believe and it's hard to tell them otherwise once they have a certain state of mind. it's sad that everyone can't simply be equalized but just like the whole racial thing, i believe that the hate will fade to almost none, regardless of whats happening now. so now we just wait for people to come to their senses and get that hate out of their hearts.... homophobes act like idgits i swear.
