Flanagan Murder's New's Station Co-Workers in Virgina-Sebastian Nino
On August 26, 2015 Vester Lee Flanagan II, age 41, shot and killed two staff members that worked for a Virginia News outlet. Flanagan killed cameraman Adam Ward and news reporter Alison Parker on live television at around 6:45 over what he claimed to be revenge for workplace bullying, racial discrimination, and sexual harassment. He claimed he suffered due to him being a gay black male. Flanagan sent a suicide note to ABC news claiming he was a 'time bomb' waiting to 'BOOM!'
This situation could relate to racism and segregation because Vester killed the white reporters for what he claimed to be revenge meaning that the reporters once showed him discrimination and he is "simply returning the favor"
Personally I feel that this situation was escalated to some thing more than it should've been. I believe that if Flanagan received medical help this situation could've been avoided. Vester was in a terrible place at the time and it ultimately resulted in his and two other people's death.

This event is a true tragedy and should promote real change in both the way mentally ill people are treated and cared for and the United States' gun laws. In addition to this, I think this story should really show people that if they see something suspicious or know that someone is acting strangely, they should report it. My thoughts are with those effected by this horrible event, and I hope that it incites change in the world.

I understand this man was trying to make a difference somehow but it could've been handled in a non-violent way.
