However, China doesn't seem to take too kindly to a new section of the SAT, the Evidence-Based Reading and Writing portion. Not because they don't want their best students to read and write, but instead what, they are to read and write. Documents, such as the Declaration of Independence and The Bill of Rights have been planting anti-communistic ideas in the brightest of minds in the generations of soon to be college students. Although the U.S has encouraged us to be a free nation, the Chinese Communist Party has been opposing such ideals to catch in their Country. Yet who is to blame? The students for studying the material or foreign testing?
So the question remains, will China deny the very thing they pride themselves for- intellect?

This makes me feel truly fortunate to be accepted in such a wonderful country that allows all people to pursue their education. I never really think about how other people our age are affected.

ReplyDeleteI find this very interesting, its the clash of two cultures. It shows how controlling China is over public knowledge. I wonder how this is going to affect China's scores. Will they sacrifice their own beliefs for high scores?
ReplyDeleteThis is a great example of how living with legalistic rules can really do more harm than good. Sometimes deciding that one thing is wrong all the time can lead one to actually harm himself. In this case China so against freedom will in the end harm themselves
