Scientists have grown a fully functional organ from transplanted laboratory-created cells in a living animal for the first time. With further research, the discovery could lead to new treatments for people with a weakened immune system and revolutionize the world of medicine. Of course, there are many trials the new treatment must endure, but in a field of medicine where people often don't make it in time to receive transplants, the future is looking bright.
