Arizona Breaks Flood Record - Hannah Kalan 6th Period

The photograph shows firefighters trying to rescue a man from his car when he was founded trapped in the flood.

Before dawn this morning, Pheonix, Arizona and it's surrounding areas were put under severe flash flood watches, as the storms that came in last night flooded its streets. "This is turning into a 1 in 200-year flood event in the Phoenix metro area." said Eric Fisher, chief meteorologist in Boston. DPS even advised against commuting during this time, where several underpasses "resembled small lakes", with waters trapping cars up to the hoods.

  1. That's crazy! Arizona always seemed like a dry state to me, but I guess not. I hope nobody was hurt in the flooding.
