Obama changes his mind about Immigration ~ Sarah Oviedo 6th pd.

On Saturday, September 9th, 2014 Obama made an announcement about holding on his action towards Immigration. Many people are upset because he has gone against what he said back in June, about how Immigration would go on no matter what. Now it seems to some people Obama cannot be trusted or depended on or maybe make people impatient with him and his actions he says he will do. It is an argument/action he took upon himself and the people that believed in him.

I feel that this impacts the U.S. in a economical way because more people will be populated here which means money/prices/taxes could possibly go higher due to the population rate increasing. Many Republicans are against the idea of Immigration as well which is a fighting argument but Obama knows what he wants to do now it is the waiting game for U.S. citizens and also Immigrants who are waiting on this to fall through. Immigration could also effect the U.S. in a social way, bringing more diversity to the U.S in culture and ethnicity's which can be a positive or negative impact on the people and the U.S..

  1. This would impact the economy but not exactly in the way that is described above, which is inflation. Depending on the percentage of illegals that land a job and pay taxes (which depends on if they get a fake social security number,) the undocumented can affect the economy in a positive way, contributing to the amount of revenue the country receives while contributing back to society and not leeching off of benefits as many others do. I personally think that the majority of the older generations came to work and truly find a better life while the majority of the newer generations crossing the border are only coming here for benefits and to be apart of Obama's DREAM Act.

  2. Immigration is an important issue that needs to be discussed, because it affects many people, both in and out of the country. There needs to be a solution which is humane and fair, but settles the debate once and for all.

  3. I feel that the immigration issue could have been solved a long time ago. Something else is holding the government back.
