The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge is something we see almost every day, whether it be on Facebook, Instagram, or we're the ones doing it. It's raised awareness so incredibly, and thousands of donations have been made.
Something a little too far went on recently, however. This challenge was completely abused and used as a "prank". Which, is extremely sad because it's for such a good cause, yet some teenagers think it's absolutely hilarious to pull this prank on an autistic boy:
Some teenagers of Bay Village High School thought it would be hilarious to do the Ice Bucket Challenge to an autistic boy, which doesn't seem harmful exactly at first. Here's the problem: The bucket was filled with urine, spit, and feces.
Drew Carey, a comdian and sitcom star, has announced that he will award 10,000 dollars to whoever can catch these "pranksters". If they turn themselves in or he finds them, he's donating that money to am autism charity.

People are totally sick. I wish that people could respect things for what they are and not ruin everything that they get ahold of
ReplyDeleteso sad how people can turn something positive into harassment
ReplyDeleteThat is horrible, but it doesnt really seem like a negative affect of the ice bucket challenge; it kinda sounds like a bunch of stupid kids got the idea from their own mean little minds and maybe it was the specific way tht it was because of the challenge but i dont think its a result of it.
ReplyDeleteOh my this is so sick. I can't believe anyone in there right mind would think of doing this.
DeleteWow this crazy, the fact people would turn something for disease awareness into something sick and perverted.
ReplyDeleteIt's so sad that people find joy in hurting others. It it these sadistic people that keep us from moving forward. I hope they see the error of their ways for not only abusing someone who has no control over his condition, but also taking away from the seriousness of ALS.
ReplyDeleteThis is really sad because people who choose to act carelessly only effect themselves and their character. I dont understand how people enjoy taking advantage of issues some people have no control over. I really hope society can grow leaders to set examples for the next generation(s). -Sarah Oviedo 6th Pd.
ReplyDeleteHonestly this makes me tear up a little just to see how cruel this world really is. Why pick on someone who cant stand up for themselves. Truly disgusting.
