Jack Boreham- Devastation in Puerto Rico After Hurricane Maria

Hurricane Maria left Puerto Rico in a apocalyptic state. The combination of high winds and flooding has crippled communication and leveled buildings. More than ten-thousand federal employees are in Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands to provide aid with meals, water, and generators. Hurricane Maria has caused a huge problem for the island. The Guajataca Dam located in the Northwest of the island is releasing water after a critical infrastructure failure. If the dam were to collapse it would lay ruin to seventy-thousand people and their homes. Due to their crippled communication lines, cops had to go door to door warning people about the dam. Another problem is that hospitals are running out of fuel for their generators as well as medical supplies. Puerto Rico's Governor Ricardo Rosselló said they are receiving shipments filled with "one-million liters of water and five hundred-thousand servings of meals and other supplies" and have "centers that will distribute water and food."
