Qiaunci Jones- Executions in Arkansas
Arkansas has announced that it will put 8 men to death over a ten-day period in April.
If it carries out its plans, the state will execute these men at a rate unheard of since the United States resumed the death penalty in 1977. The similar recent occurring two decades ago in the heyday of the death penalty in Texas, when they put eight inmates to death in the span of a month, but those executions were not carried out in such a compressed number of days.
Pressing that many deaths in a matter of days is kinda ridiculous. What exactly is the rush on forcing all these deaths so soon. Also, why is putting people to death so easy and fast, yet when other problems need to be solved it takes forever . This can be related to the death penalty that happened in 1977, which marked its highest execution rate in a short amount of time.
