Emily Anderson- KKK says they're not "white supremacists"

In a recent article, KKK members are saying they are not necessarily "white supremacists." They believe that America was founded for whites and only whites can run a peaceful country. In a recent interview the members insisted they were not "white supremacists". One man stated, "We're not white supremacists. We believe in our race." This, however, is contradicting because in their rulebook, they state they must maintain white supremacy. They chose to call themselves "white separatists" or "white nationalists" now though.
This article was published only yesterday which is very crazy how the Ku Klux Klan is still in operation today even though it was created 150 years ago just after the Civil War ended. The KKK came about when the African Americans were free, and some white southerners didn't accept their freedom or citizenship. It's crazy to me that they are still in existence today. I believe it's very contradicting to say "whites should be in power" but then not call yourself a white supremacist. It definitely would not be a good idea to have only one type of race in power because then nothing is diverse. Studies actually show that the more diverse a group is, the more innovative and bright that group becomes because it brings different perspectives and ideas together.

  1. This is really not that surprising to me, considering the KKK doesn't really run on that sound of logic in the first place.
