During his campaign, Trump boasted about his loyalty to those supporting him. However, as Trump is picking the members of his Cabinet, some of his earliest supporters aren't getting picked. People like Chris Christie and Sarah Palin are being left out in the cold, while Mitt Romney, a leader of the "nver Trump" movement, and Cathy McMorris Rodgers, who has spoken out about Trump's remarks on women, are looking like top picks.
This article was written December 9th, so the news is recent. It appears the author, Maggie Haberman, has a slight bias against Trump. Before reading this article, I really wasn't up to date on all of Trump's cabinet selections. I think the article was written for people like me to inform us of what's going on with the president-elect and to keep us updated. I think it's important for people to read and know what's going on with the government because that's what makes us a democracy. This can be related to Andrew Jackson's use of the spoils system. He rewarded people who supported him with positions in Congress. It seems Trump is doing the opposite.

I think this is actually a great thing, because it shows Trump doesn't have an alliance to people just because they supported his campaign but because they are intelligent and qualified for the job.
