Summary: It’s almost been four years since the anniversary of the Sandy Hook shooting, and many Americans have come to remember this tragic day. Recently, people have heard some shocking news from a father who lost his son in the Sandy Hook accident. He said that he’s been receiving complaints about people who believe that the Sandy Hook shooting was a hoax, or fake. The father, Len Pozner, was interviewed and shared about these radical individuals who say they think that all mass shootings aren’t real and think that nothing bad ever happens. Now Pozner is working with an organization to help prevent the constant hoaxer comments online by removing any posts or videos that influence their sort of ideas. Pozner says that these hoaxers goal is to just project hate onto people through the web.
Analysis: This article brings so many devastating memories about the shooting and it’s shocking that people would even feel entitled to make assumptions that offend victims of Sandy Hook. The main idea was to encourage people to stay away from these hoaxers and to continue not to spread hate over the internet. All the theories that the hoaxers have shared are extremely offensive to majority of Americans and I believe more people should help stop all this negativity. The opposing assumptions of the hoaxers synthesizes to abolitionist’s opposing views on slavery during Civil War.
It is so sad to hear about this event, like you, Lilly, it brings back some horrific memories of similar events in the years past.
ReplyDeleteIt's so disrespectful to victim's families to call such a tragic event a hoax. It's good that people are working to prevent these comments.
ReplyDeleteI don't see why anyone would make up something dealing with such a serious topic.
ReplyDeletewhy would anyone say something so idiotic?
