Scientist Want to Bring Back the Woolly Mammoth by Andrew Witcher 4th

In the futuristic age of today, scientist are doing the unimaginable. In a wildlife preserve in North Siberia, environmentalist are working on reconstructing a cold resistant ecosystem. Currently it is composed of bison, oxen, moose, reindeer, and horses. Scientist hope to use Korean cloning technology to recreate the now extinct woolly mammoth. They would extract DNA from a recently found baby that was preserved in ice, and try to reproduce it. This could be the future of scientific research. Hopefully, they will be able to reproduce this once key animal, and not have a Jurassic Park incident.

I hope the scientists have considered the environmental ramifications of bringing back an entire species.

  2. Although this idea sounds awesome, I don't think scientists should try to recreate animals, maybe their extinction was "for the best". Besides there is no telling which problems could arise regarding a new species.(Alejandra Hernandez 6th period)
