(Angelique Flores 9th) 6 year old gets attacked by 5th grader

Summary: Georgia deputies are investigating an alleged attack of 6 year old Lanira at Oakland Elementary School.  Her mother Cheryl Tackett got a call from the Elementary school around 8:30am Thursday morning but claims "They were reluctant to tell her what was going on, just that my her daughter had been in an accident in the girls' bathroom."  The anxious mother drove over to the school to see her daughter with a bloody face, clothes soaking wet, missing skin, and with a big knot on her head.  They let the mother know that "the other girl, who was in 5th grade, choked my daughter in the bathroom and she sat there and banged her head inside the toilet several times, very viciously" and that eventually the teacher intervened but Lanira was already in rough shape.  The police filled a report and sent the mother and daughter to the hospital. Lanira is okay physically but is emotionally suffering.  The fifth grader is believed to be in Juvenile Detention.  Later Tackett says that this is not the first time her daughter has had a problem with this 5th grader.  She tells reporters that last Friday that her daughter was crying and was told that "if she got off the bus she was going to get beat up."   Now Tackett has now pulled her daughter out of the school and say's she is sending all five of her kids to a different school next year.

Analysis: This story truly aggravates me. My question is.. Why didn't they have a teacher in the bathroom monitoring like they're supposed to in the first place? Why wasn't the school watching this girl especially after shed been threatened by the 5th grader before? I just really feel like this school didn't care about it enough to stop it before things got bad. Look at this little girl! They school should be ashamed of themselves. Of course they didn't want to tell her mother about the incident because they knew they'd messed up by not taking proper safety precautions as a school IS SUPPOSED TO DO.  The parents of this braty fifth grader should be ashamed of themselves as well. I don't care what excuse them or there child makes up for why she did this because they know DANG well that their child is in the wrong. I have no clue to if this little girls mother had warned the school about her daughter being bullied, that is also another question that deserves answering. I truly feel bad for this 6 year old. I feel as if the school is slacking for the reason that summer is so very near so they probably feel that nothing is going to happen. Heck they probably even "warned" the fifth grader and were lenient about it.  Bullying is NOT a joke and it should NEVER be taken so far to the point where someone either commits suicide, or in this case gets Physically injured. Schools need to tighten up on their disciplinary system as well as strongly influencing that Bullying is WRONG ON SO MANY LEVELS. That is all i have to say about the subject and my rant is now over.
